We feel so blessed to have created a behavioral impact in young medical students across India. A team of 15,000+ doctors and still growing!
This remains a day etched in my memory - October 15th, 2015, Dr. Abdul Kalam's birthday.
Little did I know, amidst the routine college events, a spark would ignite in our auditorium, forever changing the course of my life. A second-year student, I was dragged to the hall by the usual call for juniors to fill the seats.
In walked the Dean sir, introducing a stranger who would become far more influential than any teacher or parent - Dr. Tupkary sir. His captivating presentation unveiled the world of Sevankur, an organization I had never heard of before. He brought with him an invitation: a chance to join the very first One Week for Nation (OWFN) journey.
That day, a seed of purpose was planted. I was captivated by the prospect of Sevankur Bharat, and a burning desire to participate in the OWFN program took root. However, with limited college slots, seniors took priority. Discouraged but determined, I embarked on a mission of persuasion, finally securing a coveted spot.
This marked the beginning of an extraordinary adventure!
Over the next nine years, I have had the privilege of participating in all eight OWFNs. But Sevankur Bharat's influence extended far beyond these journeys. It was the company of the senior consultants that truly enriched my experience. Just being around them instilled invaluable virtues.
During my first Personality Development Camp (PDC) in 2018, the honorable speaker, Prashant Pathak Ji, delivered a speech so profound, it brought me to tears.
Though I can't recall the exact words, the overwhelming emotion was guilt, boundless and raw!
His humility exposed my own ego, shattering the illusion of my self-importance. A wave of introspection washed over me, leaving behind a genuine reflection and a deep desire for change.
Dr. Tupkary sir, noticing my distress, led me to meet the speaker, Prashant sir, in-person.
Words failed me, and I could only bow at his feet, overwhelmed by the experience!
That day, I was left in tears. My ingrained ego began to dissolve, replaced by a profound humility. Sevankur Bharat, through its guidance and the wisdom of its members, had gifted me with a true reflection of myself.
It has shaped everything from my relationships to my future, becoming an integral part of who I am.
Another invaluable lesson is taking full responsibility for my life.
Beyond personal growth, this organization nurtured my spiritual and national consciousness. Through interactions with countless inspiring seniors, I have absorbed innumerable virtues.
The idea of teaching others feels less relevant than embodying the lessons learned. My actions, a reflection of my growth within Sevankur Bharat, serve as a ray of hope for younger students, allowing them to learn by my example.
This is more than an organization; it is a nurturing environment. A space free from judgment, it allows for mistakes while celebrating growth. It is a fertile ground where, like a flower basking in sunlight and water, we blossom into our highest potential through the freedom to learn from our missteps.
Through Sevankur Bharat, I have embarked on a journey of self-discovery, understanding not just myself but also society and the nation I belong to.
